***The Canoer's chalet is part of Le Baluchon Eco-Resort. Included: outdoor activities and equipment, 35 km of forest trails, both the resort's indoor and outdoor seasonal pools, and the whirlpool.***
This panoramic chalet, proudly situated on the banks of the Du Loup River, boasts a striking presence! A short drive from the Baluchon Eco-Resort site and framed by the forest, it offers an immersive nature experience in complete tranquility. Gather family, friends, or colleagues and create lasting memories!
The impressive dimensions of The Canoer's chalet are highlighted by its vaulted ceiling and large bay windows that cover the entire façade of the chalet. The airy and bright interior is bathed in natural light, with exceptional views of the river and the surrounding nature.
Outside, The Canoer's features a large terrace with a wood-burning fireplace and Adirondack chairs inviting relaxation. The terrace extends on one side to a screened porch equipped with tables, chairs, and a BBQ, where you can entertain the entire group for meals, games, and activities.
The chalet's indoor common areas are in a spacious, comfortable, and fully equipped loft, which includes a kitchen, living room, and dining area. The open space upstairs features a dormitory, a work area, and an adjacent bathroom. An additional bedroom with a private bathroom completes the upper floor, while two more bedrooms with private bathrooms are located on the ground floor.
The Canoer's chalet is decorated in a ‘slow design' style that evokes the historic canoe races once held in the region. You'll admire the original furniture pieces made from wood sourced from the surrounding Baluchon land and the metal finishes crafted by local artisans, paying tribute to Quebec's rich history. The curtains, throws, and bedspreads are also made by a local company.
A few minutes'-drive away are the various facilities of Le Baluchon. In one area, the reception, restaurants, terrace, and bakery are all under one roof, with outdoor equipment conveniently nearby. Another area houses the pools, hot tub, and fitness room within the SPA's building. The tennis court is close by. These two areas are a short drive or about a ten-minute walk from each other. Take advantage of the wooden walkway along the Du Loup River and its cascades.
The Canoer's chalet can accommodate up to 12 people with its three bedrooms and loft space, totaling 6 comfortable beds. Each bedroom includes a king or queen bed, a private bathroom with a shower (the master bedroom has both a shower and a bath), a work desk with an ergonomic chair, a storage unit, and a chair.
The main bedroom has a walk-in closet. The two bedrooms on the ground floor have, in addition, their own independent exterior entrances, a Keurig-style coffee maker, a mini fridge, a television, and a phone.
The loft features a dormitory area upstairs with two queen murphy beds, armchairs, a storage unit, a closet, and an adjacent bathroom. An additional queen-size murphy bed is located on the ground floor in the living area.
The spacious and functional common areas are designed for enjoyable group meals and gatherings. The large, fully equipped kitchen (including a dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, microwave, cookware, dishes, two fondue pots, and filter coffee maker) is completed by a dining area with a counter and a long table. The living area, furnished with sofas, armchairs, a gas fireplace, and a television, is perfect for relaxing while enjoying the view.
