Lake Souris is a magnificent stretch of navigable water vocation both residential resort. It is accessed by Route 351, in the heart of the village of Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc by the way St. Edward northbound and the path of pioneers westward.
The lake is geographically located in two municipalities and two counties are separate provincial, Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc, County Saint-Maurice and Saint-Élie-de-Caxton, Maskinongé County.
Two (2) elongated basins on either side of a peninsula give shape to Lake Souris. There is also a large island on which ten (10) homes and cottages are built and two (2) other small islands with an owner of each.
Mouse Lake has an area of 2,025 km ², the contour is 20.442 km and a volume of 3,037,500 m³ of water regulated by a concrete dam type "weir" (fixed height), built in 1991. Classified according to the E Center of Expertise Hydric Quebec and meets all government standards, the dam belongs to the Association of Owners of Lake Souris (SPLA Inc.).. Its catchment area is 25.3 km ² which the effluent is the Little Souris River.
There are 314 buildings bordering the Lake Souris, including 211 in Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc and 103 in Saint-Élie-de-Caxton. 314 residents of these buildings, 93 owners are permanent residents.
